Rep Cawthorn Tours New Fire Station

On October 14th, Town Councilors Bunnie McIntosh and Denise Collier were part of a meet and greet with Representative Madison Cawthorn as he made a stop in Burnsville.

Town Councilors mentioned to Rep. Cawthorn that, like many small towns, Burnsville has a great need for infrastructure funding. Burnsville’s aging water and wastewater infrastructure has kept Town work crews increasingly busy as much overdue, rehabilitations of the facilities and pipes are needed.

Councilors also mentioned the creative piece-meal solutions that small Towns are required to undertake in order to achieve major projects.  They wanted to highlight Burnsville’s newly completed fire station on Pineola Street and the incredible hard work of many councilors, staff members and firemen.  The Councilors, suggesting a tour of the station, emphasized the incredible effort of Fire Chief Niles Howell as he oversaw the project.

Chief Howell then gave Rep. Cawthorn a tour of the new, modern facility. Impressed by the new fire station, Rep. Cawthorn acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Chief Howell and all involved.
