Mike Wilson, age 70, of the White Oak Community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late James and Thelma Blevins Wilson. Mike was a member and deacon of White Oak Independent Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved his church, his bear dog, Bonnie and especially his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Lou Mace Wilson; daughter, Crystal Marsh and husband, Joey, of Micaville; grandchildren: Samuel Marsh (Brittany) of Burnsville and Mary Hannah Marsh (Jackson Adams) of Micaville; brothers: Jerry Wilson (Beverly) of Burnsville and Dean Wilson (Donna) of Marion; special nieces: Emily Patton (Brian) of Burnsville and Denay Wilson of Marion.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral services will follow. Rev. CJ Robinson and Rev. Cotton Hopson will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. in the James Herman Wilson Cemetery on White Oak Creek Road.
