Now is the time to apply for a Small Business Grant in Mitchell County. According to Patti Jensen, Executive Director, Mitchell County Chamber and Mitchell County Development Foundation, “Since the Spring of 2020, our local businesses have been doing everything they can to survive the effects of the pandemic and have shown amazing resilience. The Duke Energy Hometown Revitalization Grant program will allow us to support and assist our small businesses in their continued efforts to come back from the previous 18 months and grow in this new business environment.”
The Mitchell County Chamber and Development Foundation partnered on the grant application to Duke Energy to request funding to support local Mitchell County small businesses. Mitchell County was one of only 30 communities in the state to be awarded this grant. Patti Jensen, Mitchell County Chamber Director said, “These funds will be used to support our small businesses in Mitchell County as they continue to pivot from the past 18 months.”
The Development Foundation was awarded $25,000 through Duke Energy to support local small businesses.
