Addyson Lorraine “Addy” Watson

Addyson Lorraine “Addy” Watson, age 7, of Burnsville, went to be with the Angels on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of Amanda Lorraine  Watson of Burnsville and step-father, Shane Nelson, of Avery County.  She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents:  Stephen and Patricia Stillwell; paternal great-grandparents:  Byron and Julietta Watson and cousin, Trevor Matthew Watson.

Addy was in the 1st grade at Genesis Academy  and attended the Grove Church of Spruce Pine.  She was always so full of life and a happy girl that brought such joy to her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her mother and step-father is her maternal grandparents:  Geoffrey and Lorraine Stillwell Watson of Burnsville; paternal grandmother, Nicky Gortney of Burnsville; great-aunt, Drusilla Watson of Duryea, PA; great-uncle, Byron Watson of Long Beach, CA; great-aunts and uncles, Scott and Lori Stillwell of St. Augustine, FL; her aunts and uncles: Josh and Catlin Watson of Burnsville,  Melissa Watson of Burnsville and Katlyn Gouge of Burnsville, Geoff Watson of Burnsville; and cousins:  Randi Dougherty of Hawaii, Brittney Watson (Dylan Freeman) of Barnardsville, Marisa Watson of Burnsville, Kaleb Watson of Burnsville, Carolina Watson of Burnsville, Christie Freeman of Barnardsville, Matthew Watson of Burnsville, and Jade, Bryson, Zander and Chase Stillwell, all of St. Augustine, FL.

Funeral Services for Addy will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 6th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Pastor Brandon Thomason will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Green Mountain.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be:  Geoffrey Watson, Josh Watson, Geoff Watson and Dylan Freeman.
