Maude Woodby Potter Bradford

Maude Woodby Potter Bradford, born January 9th, 1930 to James Marion and Alice Lucinda King Woodby went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at her home.  A native of Yancey County, Maude lived on Byrd Branch most of her life.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Bradford, who passed away in 1999; her brothers: Bruce, James L., George, Charlie, Claude and Bill and a sister, Lydia Woodby Higgins, all of Burnsville.  She was also preceded in death by several half brothers and sisters.  Maude was a devoted member of W.M. Borings Freewill Baptist Church on Jacks Creek.  She was a devoted and loving mother.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed picking berries, gardening and canning.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Alice Potter Sandlin and husband, Jerry Jason; sister, Mary Woodby Kampf; two grandchildren: James M. Sandlin and Maria Sandlin Katzmire and four great grandchildren: Amber, Sandlin, Keri, Kevin and Katelin Katzmire.  Lots of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 21st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Rev. Dale Laws and Rev. Frank Cable will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.   Burial will follow the services in the Woodby Family Cemetery on Byrd Branch Road.  To send online condolences, visit our website at www.yanceyfuneralservice.com.
