Linda McLaughlin Penland, age 62, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 30th at Lake Norman Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Cecil McLaughlin and Gladys Burrell McLaughlin Arrington. Linda loved spending time with her grandson, Tommy. She enjoyed decorating with Roosters, fishing and camping.
Surviving is her husband, Watson Penland; daughter, Melissa Bowes and husband, Byron, of Burnsville; grandson, Tommy Hall of Burnsville; brothers: Marlon Arrington of Mars Hill and Phillip Arrington and wife, Darlene, of Mars Hill and an aunt, Caroline Penland. Many friends also survive.
