John David Pendley, Sr, age 54, of Green Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5th, 2021 at his home. A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late T.J. Pendley, Sr and Nancy Beam Pendley. He was also preceded in death by sister, Laura Hicks and a brothers: Michael and Mark Pendley. John was a member of Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church and a mechanic for many years.
Surviving is his loving wife, Loretta Akers Pendley; son, J.D. Pendley, Jr. (Samantha Lingerfelt) of Green Mountain; sisters: Diane Hollandsworth (Tod) of Lexington and Melissa Pendley of Weaverville; brothers: Louis Pendley (Michelle), Chris Pendley (Teresa), Jeff Pendley (Nicki) all of Spruce Pine, Paul Pendley (Gay) of Nebo and T.J. Pendley (Connie) of Boone; sister-in-law, Nikki Lanier of Lexington; aunt, Judy Miller of Green Mountain and foster parents: James and Doris Miller of Tipton Hill. Several other extended family member also survive.
