Grant Whitson, age 61, of the Cane River Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
A native of Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Rassie and Helen Gavigan Whitson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Whitson; special uncle, Ray Letterman and several other aunts and uncles.
Grant was a member of the Jeep Crew, enjoyed watching football games and especially enjoyed his job working at Ingles. He loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren and attending all their special sports events and his dog, Ace.
Surviving is his daughter, Jessica Bryant and husband, Daniel, of Burnsville; sister, Kathy Roman and husband, Buzz, of Pennsylvania and his grandchildren: Hailey Watkins, Taylor Bryant, Bradley Bryant, Cara Bryant and Connor Bryant all of Burnsville.
Private burial will be held in the Peterson Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Yancey Funeral Services at 378 Charlie Brown Road, Burnsville, NC 28714 to help with expenses.
