Yancey County Schools special announcement for parents at Burnsville Elementary, Micaville Elementary, East Yancey Middle, and Mountain Heritage High School.
The school system been working with the Sheriff’s Office throughout the day regarding the most recent car chase and manhunt. As a safety precaution, we are going to have our School Resource Officers ride our afternoon bus routes in the following communities:
Double Island (bus 140)
Shoal Creek (bus 128)
Plum Branch (bus 128)
And MHHS bus # 139
They are notifying parents who have children who ride these bus routes in these communities in case you want to come and pick up your children this afternoon.
