Jimmy Lee Sparks, age 55, of Gouge Cove Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord December 27, 2021. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC. Jimmy was previously employed with Baxter Healthcare and also enjoyed working with his family in lawn care maintenance. He loved helping his son in woodworking. Jimmy was a simple man with a big heart that loved to help others, he was a great father, and husband he loved his entire family.
Survivors include; his wife Tammy Hall Sparks, of the home, his son Tyler Sparks, of Spruce Pine, NC, his father, and step mother Benny Briggs (Jenny), two sisters: Regina Jarrett and Crystal Rowe, both of Bakersville, NC, five brothers: Johnny Sparks, John Briggs, Benny (Spank) Briggs, Adam Sparks, and Michael Sparks, all of Bakersville, NC.
He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Sparks, and his grandmother Estelle Sparks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 4:00PM in the chapel of Henline – Hughes Funeral home with Reverend Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 1:00PM at Gouge Cemetery on Gouge Cove Rd.
