Carrie Gardner Wilson

Carrie Gardner Wilson, age 84, of Conley Road in Bakersville, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation in Spruce Pine.

Born on August 14, 1937 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Newland Frank and Mae Childers Gardner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Norris Wilson who passed away in 2002. Also preceding her in death were her brothers; Ray, Frank, Harry, J.D., James, and Melvin Gardner and her sisters; Bernice Gardner, Faye Greene, and Irene Gardner.

Carrie was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was known as a fantastic cook and in her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flowers. She loved the Lord and all of her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons; Doug Wilson and wife, Carolyn of Marion and Tim Wilson and wife, Regina of Morganton; her daughters; Teresa Wilson of the home and Juanita Cantrell and husband, Charlie of Plumtree; her grandchildren; Lauren, Lila, and Hannah; her great grandchildren; Addison and Lucas; her sisters; Betty English and Darlene Putman both of Bakersville; and Margaret Gardner of Unicoi, TN; her brothers; Richard Gardner of Bakersville and George Gardner of Morganton; several nieces and nephews.

A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Darin Waldroup officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

For those attending the services for Mrs. Wilson, the family requests that all who attend, please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
