The Yancey Fund Helps Parkway Playhouse Gain New Technology

The Yancey Fund, which seeks to improve the quality of life in Yancey County by supporting projects and organizations that benefit the county’s residents and local life, has granted money to Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville. With this grant, the Parkway Playhouse was able to update their technology, secure laptops for the Main stage booth and box office, and update their box office ticket printer and the office and box office telephones.

These updates are well-timed with recovering from COVID setbacks and preparing for their 75th season in 2022. They are excited to be able to provide Yancey County residents with adequate communication through the Box Office and for the Director of Education and Outreach to be reachable for all things Education and Outreach for the theatre. Communication is crucial to reaching their patrons and being able to assist them and they are thrilled to have the technology to do so. The laptop for the Main stage booth will benefit everyone who visits the theatre for a production since it will house the lighting and sound systems.

The Yancey Fund is supported by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, an organization that inspires philanthropy and mobilizes resources to enrich lives and communities in Western North Carolina.

Parkway Playhouse thanks the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and is looking forward to an exciting future.
