Kathy Burleson

Kathy Burleson, age 69, of Oak Ridge Drive in Spruce Pine, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.

Born on May 8, 1952 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Iva Buchanan McClellan.

Kathy was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher.

Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Every Sunday, her family gathered at her house for one of her delicious homemade meals. She had a wonderful smile that would light up any room.

She was a nature lover and she enjoyed spending time in the beauty of God’s creation and photographing the mountains, flowers, and wildlife around her home.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifty years; Adam Burleson of the home; her daughter, Heather Pendley and husband, Tommy of Spruce Pine; her son; Daniel Burleson and wife, Kimberly of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Hannah and Gabe Pendley and Gavin and Isaac Burleson; her sisters; Joann Ford of Spruce Pine and Nancy Bentley and husband, Charles of Hickory and her brothers; Ralph McClellan and Charles McClellan and wife, Elizabeth all of Spruce Pine.

A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Wednesday, February, 16 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home. Private Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Green Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ken Hollifield officiating.

The family would like to remind family and friends that may have tested positive for COVID within the past ten day or anyone experiencing symptoms, please be considerate of others and remain at home.
