Donna Burleson Ledford, age 58, of Spruce Pine, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Mitchell County she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Phillips Burleson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David “Teddy” Burleson who passed away in 2016. Donna loved going to the beach, loafering, watching soap operas, Law And Order and the news channel on the television but she especially loved her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 18 years, Daniel Ledford; daughter, Brandi Cox and husband, Kevin, of Spruce Pine; son, Brandigan Cox and wife, Dawn, of Nebo; grandchildren: Seth Cox (Brooke), Blake Cox (Claudia), Makayla Campbell (Dylan), Cameron Cox and Brayden Burleson; great-grandchildren: Owen, Liam and Stephanie Cox and Ellie Campbell; brothers: Tony Burleson of Spruce Pine and Tommy Burleson (Angie) of Newdale. Several other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. David Gillespie will officiate. Private burial will be in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
