Betty Wiseman Pendley, age 87, of Morgan Park Drive in Marion, formerly of Spruce Pine, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolinas in Forest City.
Born on July 7, 1934 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mattie Neal Wiseman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Pendley who passed away in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son; Doug Pendley and her sisters; Jean Blackburn and Ada Taylor.
Betty was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. Prior to her declining health, she enjoyed working in her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed drinking coffee, visiting, and talking with her friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her son; Danny Pendley of Marion; her daughter; Glenda Evans of Drexel; and Casey McCloud who she thought of as a son; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Arlene Huskins, Irene Wiseman, and Christine Edwards all of Spruce Pine; Judy McKinney and Patty Mahan and husband, Jerry; Kathy Haney and husband, Ronnie; and Faye Nelson and husband, David all of Marion; and Brenda Jennings of Glenville; and her brothers; LJ Wiseman and wife, Debbie and Dennis Wiseman and wife, Becky all of Marion.
A service may be planned and announced for a later date.
