Wade Donald Johnson, age 74, of Bakersville, passed away on Friday, April 8th, 2022. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Wade and Kathleen Johnson. Wade was a truck driver for 44 years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home and doing yard work.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Johnson; four sons: Eric, Kevin, Russ and Aaron Johnson, all of West Virginia; three stepchildren: Tim, Dale and Laura Hyder, all of Spruce Pine; a special great-grandson, Easton Burleson; a sister, Linda Lusk of Canton, Ohio; and two brothers: Johnny Johnson of Canton, Ohio and Norman Davis (Betty Jo) of Jonesborough, TN. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
