Breaking and Entering Leads To Four Arrested

In the early morning hours of Wednesday April 13th three individuals broke into a residence just off of West US Highway 19E. Upon entering the home, with the intent to burglarize the residence, they were met by the owner, who had been asleep at the time. The individuals attacked the resident causing serious injury.

Detective Ronnie Tipton of the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Spruce Pine Police Department in reference to several suspicious individuals trying to cash a check at the State Employees Credit Union in Spruce Pine. After interviewing the subjects, four suspects were arrested.

Cody Robert Buchanan, 25, of Burnsville was charged with Felony First Degree Burglary, Felony Larceny after Break/Enter, Assault Inflict Serious Injury, Felony Uttering Forged Endorsement, (2) counts Possession of Stolen Goods, and Felony Obtain Property False Pretense. Buchanan is being held in the Yancey County Detention Center on a $110,295 bond.

Branden Lee Buchanan, 24, of Burnsville was charged with Felony First Degree Burglary and Felony Larceny after Break/Enter. Buchanan is being held in the Yancey County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Tara Lynn Edwards, 27, of Burnsville was charged with Felony First Degree Burglary. Edwards is being held at the Yancey County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

James Chadrick Angel, 18, of Burnsville was charged with Felony Accessory After the Fact.  Angel is being held in the Yancey County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond
