Edith Wyatt (Carroll) Robinson, age 95 of Burnsville, went home to be with her Lord on April 22, 2022, at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation.
She was the daughter of the late Vance and Hessie Boone Carroll. She was also preceded in death by husbands: Albert Wyatt who died in 1967, and Herman Robinson who died in 2006 after five years of marriage; son, Morris Wyatt who died in 1999; daughter, Nancy Brassell who died in 2011; son in law, Richard Brassell who died in 2019. One brother, Willard Carroll; sisters: Minnie Jones, Martha Boone, Eva Banks, Inez Carroll, who was disabled and whom Edith cared for, for over 30 years; a niece: Kay Boone, whom she loved dearly.
Survivors include her daughter in law, Karen Wyatt; granddaughters: Amber Wyatt Vanderwolf and Kelly Wyatt, great granddaughters, Jess Vanderwolf.
One niece, Wilma King of Littlestown, Pennsylvania; nephew, Billy Jones and wife Doris of Spruce Pine; great nieces: Shawn Boone Burleson, Heather Parker and Tonya Boone; and a very special neighbor, friend and caregiver, Carol Pate.
Edith was a lifelong resident of Burnsville. Edith and her first husband Albert, owned and operated Wyatts Grocery Store in the 1950’s. She also worked at Anglin and Westall Clothing Store, the Corner Store, and Ginny Lisa’s Shop. The last place she worked was B&B Grocery and it was from there that she retired.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, at the Holcombe Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. Reverend Steve Williams will officiate.
