The Yancey Humane Society has been awarded a grant for a Fence Building Project for Yancey County Residents Living on Low Incomes. Funding for this program was provided by The Yancey Fund, an affiliate fund of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
The grant will provide enough funding to build approximately 8 fences. Applications will be accepted beginning June 1st. To qualify, a person or family must live in Yancey County, must own their property as opposed to renting, and must qualify financially by being a recipient of governmental assistance or have a demonstrated financial need.
Applications will be available at the Humane Society, the Barkin’ Basement Resale Store and online at www.yanceyhumanesociety.org
