Raymond Harold Lee, age 77, of Burnsville, NC, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of the late Virgil and Peggy Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Angel.
Raymond was a loving Christian man who never met a stranger, always willing to help others in need. He was a faithful member of Browns Creek Baptist Church.
He loved his wife of 59 years, Allene Lee. They had four children: Jeff Lee (Mandy) of Chuckey TN, Marsha Bartlett (Brian) of Burnsville, Greg Lee (Darlene) of Marion and Brian Lee (Sharleen) of Burnsville; grandchildren: Brittany Wheeler (Aaron), Christie Hughes (Dakota), Austin Bartlett (Katie), Cody Horney (Nikki), Dalton Lee (Anna), Taylor Amerto (Avery), Alexis Ray, J.D. Ray, Nicole Fox and Brandon Buchanan (Shenna); eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Mabel Whitson (Wayne) of Spruce Pine, Polly Buchanan (Lawrence) of Burnsville, Carolyn Burleson (Mack) of Bakersville, Beatrice Pitman (James) of Bakersville, Frances Stamey (Morris) of Spruce Pine and Alma Lee of Marion; brother-in-law, Kenneth Angel of Burnsville and his special friends, Roger Stevens and Sheryl Briggs. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
A service to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Shane Buchanan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
