Maxine Silvers Sands of Columbia, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 at her home. She was born on November 20th, 1946 to the late Herman and Ruth Higgins Silvers. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, John Sands. Maxine enjoyed listening to gospel music, singing at church and especially spending time with her family and her church family.
Surviving is her aunt, Frances Davis of Burnsville and numerous cousins also survive.
A celebration of Maxine’s life will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25th in New Life Baptist Church in Columbia, SC with Pastor Hamilton officiating. A second celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services with Pastor Hamilton officiating.
