The Group “Shine-On Burnsville” has reported that the cross on Phillips Knob has been vandalized. There have been questions about why it has not been lit up recently. According to Shine-On a report of both theft and vandalism has been made to the Yancey County Sheriff’s Department and an investigation is underway.
