Robie Israel Autrey

Robie Israel Autrey, age 51, of Beaver Creek Road in Spruce Pine passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.

Born on January 28, 1971 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ima Jean Clemons Autrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; China Autrey and Wilma Autrey.

Robie was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. He was a cast member of the ‘Living Lord’s Supper’ and had worked on numerous church repair projects. He loved his family and was dedicated to them, especially his son, Robie and his daughter, Riley. He could best be described as a true, ‘mountain man’.

He loved deer hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was a man with a heart as he often worked for little or no pay and he also gave much to others. He was known as an intelligent person that could figure most things out on anything that he was working on and if necessary, he could implement a plan or tool to get the job done. In his spare time he also enjoyed outdoor grilling, gardening and working with plants.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rhonda Autrey of Spruce Pine; his son; Robie A. Autrey of the home; his daughter; Riley Edwards; his stepdaughters; Trisha Franklin of Spruce Pine and Stefani Styles and husband, Adam of Marion; his sisters; Rosa Whitt and husband, J.B. of Hickory and Derata Robinson and husband, Richard of Marion; his brothers; James Autrey and wife, Kim of Sanford, Freddy Autrey of Union Mills and Rodney Autrey of Spruce Pine; and two step granddaughters.

Arrangements are incomplete.  They will be announced once they have been finalized.
