Hermon Robert Robinson

Hermon Robert Robinson, a native of North Carolina and an Asheville resident, passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-six on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.

Born to the Reverend Earl and Annie Wilson Robinson who resided in Marion, NC, he was the eldest of seven children. His siblings that preceded him in death are Ed, Frank, Howard, Marilyn, Iva and Eula.

He was the beloved husband of the late Johnsie Ogle Robinson, who passed away in 1989 after 43 years of marriage, and was the father of three daughters: Shelby Jean Calloway (deceased), Janice Freck and Delphine Bryan; sons-in-law: Stephen, David and Stuart; grandchildren: Robert Thompson, Marlisa Bowles, Marcquel Kuykendall; great-granddaughter, Mary Margaret Bowles, and grandsons-in-law: Ryan and Jeremy.

He is survived by his second wife, Louise Higgins Robinson, and family.

Hermon served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a kind, compassionate, caring man with a very creative mind. His greatest passion was being in nature, especially always happiest feeding and watching his birds.

Sad hearts, fond memories and love surround us for a man we will miss dearly.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, June 10th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Randal Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Cornelius Ray Cemetery in Celo, NC. Military honors will be conducted by the Sgt. E. L. Randolph, Chapter #57 D.A.V.
