Lawrence Glenn Woody age 95, of Spruce Pine the Ingalls community passed away Wednesday June 8, 2022 at the Carolina Rehab Center in Morganton.
Born in Avery County he was a son of the late Greenville and Roberta Wiseman Woody. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Taylor Woody, a daughter, Barbara Shell, four sisters; Mabel Wiseman, Virginia Curtis, Louise Gouge and Shirley Fullbright and two brothers; Robert and Bill Woody.
Lawrence was a jack of all trades and he loved working on lawn mowers and hunting.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters; Angie Ballew and husband John of Burnsville, Phyllis McCurry and husband Gary and Patricia Woody all of Morganton, a son, Kenneth Woody and wife Cindy of Morganton granddaughters, Siera Miller and husband Josh and Melissa Reep and husband Harold, grandsons, Manoah Ballew, Kasey Woody, Tyler Woody and Jamie Carswell and wife Christy and a number of great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Scott Woody and wife Vivian, Case Woody and wife Betty and Tylie Woody and wife Sandy.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday June 12, 2022 in the Walnut Grove Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Walnut Grove Church Cemetery.
