NC Department of Insurance Grants Distributed

The NC Department of Insurance recently presented grant checks to the Yancey County Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Double Island Fire Department. Each received a grant of $5000.  The grants came from the North Carolina Rural Initiative Fund. The goal of the grants is to financially assist these departments to ease the financial burden during these unprecedented times. The North Carolina Department of Insurance, Office of State Fire Marshal and NC State firefighters Association worked to obtain the funds for the Yancey County Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Double Island Fire Department.
