Jerry Lee Penland, age 73, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022. A resident of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Glen and Jessie Penland. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Penland; and his wife, Cathy Penland.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Jeraldine Penland; daughter, Kim Pauley (David); brothers: Maurice Penland and Clay Penland; sisters: Lois Westall and Louise Robinson; grandchildren: Tyler Pauley, Noah Pauley (Rachel), Mannon Pauley, Say-Lee Garland (Jacob), Kay-Lee Pauley, Zaccheus Pauley, and Ezra Pauley; great-grandchildren: Ella Garland and Isla Garland; as well as best friends, Doug Hensley and J.D. Austin.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Banks Family Cemetery on Banks Creek Road in Burnsville, NC. Preacher Seth Metcalf will officiate.
