Abortion Activists March in Burnsville

Various abortion protests have continued across the country since the Supreme Court decision to suspend Roe vs Wade and turn the decision making back over to individual states.  A small group of approximately 20 pro abortion activists came to Burnsville on July 4th and  marched through the downtown area where people were gathering for the July 4th activities. They also marched by the Yancey County courthouse carrying signs that read “Abortion is Healthcare”, “Bans off our bodies” and “My life is more important than a clump of cells”.  It was a mostly peaceful protest but at least one point they did loudly chant a slogan about Roe v Wade. They also appeared to engage in a discussion with a few apparently anti-abortion people. The planned event was posted on social media and most of the protestors appeared to be from out of town.
