Betty Jean Willis Boston, age 89, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at her home.
A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Aude and Viola Boone Willis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Horace James Boston, who passed away on April 9th, 2022 and a brother, Johnny Willis.
Betty was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and retired from Henredon. She was a loving mom and nanny to many. She loved to cook for her family. Betty made beautiful quilts and always had a beautiful flowerbed. Her and pop always kept our family close together.
Surviving is four children: James Buck Boston (Tina) of Spruce Pine, Gary Boston (Emma) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sue Harrison (Kenny) of Burnsville and Tim Boston (Linda) of Spruce Pine; thirteen grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and sisters: Catherine Crowder and Margaret Beaver. Numerous other extended family members also survive.
