L J Robinson, age 83, of Sullins Branch Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022.
Born on November 28, 1938 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Lonas and Bonnie Garland Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dewey Burleson.
LJ was a member and deacon of the Pine Branch Baptist Church. He worked at Belk’s in Spruce Pine for thirty years as the sales/service manager. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garden and day lilies. He also enjoyed wood working and fishing. He was a Tar Heel basketball fan.
Left to cherish his memory is his sisters; Kathy Burleson and husband, Cecil of Spruce Pine and Judy Burleson of Spruce Pine; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services and interment will be on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Pine Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Joe Greene officiating.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all of the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for their wonderful care of LJ during his illness.
