Angela Carol McKinney, age 51, of Weaverville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 25th, 2022. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of Edith Hensley Buchanan and the late Ray Carroll Buchanan. She was also preceded in death by a stillborn son, Jason McKinney.
Angela worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years as a mail carrier and at the Weaverville Laundromat. She enjoyed crafts, fishing and collecting coins.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her three sons: Stephen McKinney and wife, Cassie, of Canton, Brandon Shetley of Candler, and Dillion Roberts of Weaverville; two grandchildren: Rylee McKinney and Kinslee McKinney; and her brother, Ray Buchanan, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Burnsville. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be held in the Chandler-Hensley Cemetery on Miller Branch Road at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 5th. Rev. Joe Robinson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
