Charlene Thomas Sparks, age 92 went home to be with the Lord September 12, 2022. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and the daughter of the late Floyd and Radie Ayers Thomas. She attended Little Rock Creek Baptist Church.
Charlene enjoyed working in her flowers, crafts, reading, and playing bingo.
Survivors include; daughters: Revonda Holliday (James) of Greer, SC, Kandra Greene (Bob) of Winston Salem, NC, Deborah Knight of Mooresville, NC, and Marcheita Sparks of Salt Lake, UT; half brother Dwight Thomas of Bakersville, NC, grandchildren: Todd Holliday, Andrea Bloom, Jason Greene, Justin Greene, Megan Newbauer, Keenan Knight, Kaitlin Knight, Rose Ashley Osborne, Adam Pendlebury, Blair Bateh, and Wills Pendlebury; great grandchildren: Grant and Sam Holliday, Deward Bloom, Avery and Bryce Greene, Wyatt and Hudson Newbauer, and Jack Pendlebury.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Deward Scott Sparks, and a daughter Cindy Sparks Osborne.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00AM in Little Rock Creek Baptist Church, 48 Green Creek Rd, Bakersville, with Rev. Phil Murdock officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Bailey Cemetery, John Sparks Road.
