Patsy Llewellyn Fox Hatfield, age 90, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 1st, 2022 following a long illness with dementia at her home.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late John Isaac and Lyda Wright Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arlin Clifford Hatfield; sisters: Juanita Gibbs, Cora Lee Bailey and Wilma Gail Gilbert and brothers: Melvin, Eugene, Homer and Carmon Fox.
Patsy was a member of West Burnsville Church of God since she was a teenager. She retired from Cane River Middle School as a cafeteria employee and worked many years as a cook at Bantam Chef. She enjoyed flowers, knitting, crocheting, cleaning and going to thrift stores with her sisters and especially reading her books.
Surviving is her son, Jerry Hatfield of Burnsville; brother, Daniel Fox and wife, Norma Lee, of Green Mountain; special cousin, Donna Sue Honeycutt and husband, Gerald, of Burnsville and her dogs: Maggie-Boy and Becca. Multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th at West Burnsville Church of God with Rev. Randal Phillips officiating. Family and friends are invited for a meal following the service in the fellowship hall.
