Gene McClinton King, Jr., 51, of Asheville, NC passed away on the 28th of September, 2022 after a long and heroic struggle with colon cancer.
Clint was born on June 14, 1971 in Asheville, NC. He was a force of nature and those who knew him never forgot him. He never met a stranger and could find common ground with anyone. Clint was a big hearted guy that would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His love of bacon and strong coffee is infamous. He loved his Trina with all of his heart. Our loss is most certainly Heaven’s gain.
Clint was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Wilkie King and Jeanette Garrett, maternal grandparents Guynia Phillips and Clyde Phillips. Clint is survived by his beloved wife, Trina, daughters Casey and Caitlyn, Step children, Christopher and Megan, parents Gene and Judy King, sisters Heather Reed (Ed) and Ruth Reed (David) along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and furry companions Daisy and Annabelle.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9th At Emma’s Grove Baptist Church in Fairview, NC. Receiving of friends will begin at 1:30 followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00.
