Reverend Earl Carver Jr. age 78 of Whitaker Branch Rd, Newland, NC of the Frank community went home to be with the Lord on Friday October 14, 2022, at his residence. He was a son of the late Earl Carver Sr. and Stella Jones Carver.
A Baptist minister, he surrendered his call to preach the Gospel in 1967. Junior was ordained at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on September 27, 1970. Junior served the Lord faithfully throughout his 55 years of preaching the Gospel, pastoring a total of 52 years; 10 and half of them at Oak Grove Baptist Church and 40 and a half at Henson Creek Baptist Church where he was currently serving as pastor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Rev. Ralph Carver, Arnold Carver, and Rev. Luther Carver, as well as his brother in-laws Gerald Johnson, and Wayne Watts.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years Teresa Ollis Carver of the home; his daughter Angela Ruppard and husband Randall of Roan Mountain, TN; His sons Steve Carver and wife Chanteé of Newland, NC, and Ricky Carver and wife Lindsay of Newland, NC; his grandchildren Abby Carver, Riley Carver, Bonnie Lunsford, Lucie Lunsford, Tillie Carver, Stella Carver, and Aiden Carver; His sisters Mary Watts, and Betty Smith (Jim) of Dallas, NC, and Minnie Johnson of Newland, NC; Numerous nieces and nephews and a church family that will miss him dearly.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Tuesday, October, 18, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Henson Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Derrick Wilson and Ray Greene officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in the Whitaker Branch Cemetery with the Revs. Cameron Carver and Kegan Hoilman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mike Dellinger, Bobby Lunsford, Jeff Byrd, Kris Goforth, Derek Buchanan, David Townsend, Riley Carver and Aiden Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrell Pittman, Sherrill Pittman and Bill Goforth.
