Gail Jean Fisher Butner, age 71, of Daisy Lane in Spruce Pine, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born in Mitchell County on April 5, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Lottie Hoilman Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Butner who passed away in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Renae Butner; her sister, Peggy Thomas and her brothers, Charles and Buddy Fisher.
Gail was a member of the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church. She was retired from Pizza Hut in Spruce Pine as the assistant manager. She loved her family and spending time with them. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching t.v. and was particularly fond of murder mysteries. She also loved animals.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Glenda Butner of Marion; her son, Michael Butner of Spruce Pine; her sister, Shirley Atkins of Ft. Mill, SC; her granddaughter, Carrie Duncan of Bakersville; her grandsons; Dillon Duncan of Bakersville and Kaleb Witschi of Marion, OH; her great grandson and great granddaughter.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Gail Butner on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Dallas Renfro and Dennis Butner officiating. Interment will follow in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church.
