Jerry Eugene Miller, age 71, of the Jacks Creek Community went home to be with the Lord on Monday November 7th, 2022. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Earl and Wanda Wilson Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Hopson Miller. Jerry was a long time member of Covey Rock Baptist church. He was a hard worker who loved to weld and took pride in the jobs he did. Jerry was an honest man who enjoyed hunting.
Surviving is his son, Brian Miller and wife, Sandra, of Spruce Pine; grandson, Dylan Miller; sisters: Pat Wilson of Burnsville and Margaret Hughes and husband, Russell, of Burnsville and brother, Gary Miller of Spruce Pine. Several other, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 9th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Paul Bennett and Rev. Russell Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hopson Family Cemetery on Jacks Creek. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the services at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Dylan Miller, Chad Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Craig Miller, Kenneth Miller, Tony Buchanan and TJ Buchanan.
