Michael “Mike” L. Peterson, age 61, of the Ramseytown community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17th at his home. Born in Ashtabula County and raised in Madison, Ohio, he was a son of Hannie Hensley Peterson and the late Harley Peterson. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, William Foreback.
Mike was a machine operator at Parker Lumber Company from 1989 to the present. He enjoyed doing number puzzles, helping his mother in the garden, loved books and watching Detroit Lions football. He loved playing pranks, and had a quiet, wicked sense of humor. More importantly, Mike had a wonderful, caring heart.
Surviving is his mother, Hannie Peterson of Burnsville; two brothers: Randy Peterson and Dennis Peterson of Burnsville; two sisters: Debra Foreback of Seven Hills, Ohio and Beverly Peterson of Madison, Ohio; a nephew, Brendan Michael Peterson of Painesville, Ohio; and a niece, Kayla Marie Peterson of Chicago, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd at Landmark Baptist Church in the Cane River community. Burial will follow in the Randolph Family Cemetery on Bent Creek Road. Rev. Scott Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 21st in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service.
