Faye Burnette, age 73, of McKinney Mine Road in Spruce Pine, the Little Switzerland community, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at her home.
Born on July 6, 1949 in Floyd County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Myrtle Meadows Diles. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roger Burnette who passed away in 2014. Also preceding her in death were her sisters; Ruby Hall, Lucinda Diles, Bertha Branham, Ollie England, and Deetta Johnson; her brothers; James, Jackie and Bobby Diles; her paternal grandparents; John and Katherine Diles and her maternal grandparents; Richard and Rebecca Meadows.
Faye was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a C.N.A. and caregiver for over forty years. She loved traveling, taking cruises and trips to the beach. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her children; Roger Burnette, Jr. and wife, Tina of Spruce Pine; Linda Whitener and husband, Jerry of Hickory and Kathy Bolick and husband, Doug of Granite Falls; her sisters; Margaret Reid and Mae Adkins and husband, Roger all of Pikeville, KY; her brother; Richard Diles and wife, Pat of Okeechobee, FL; her grandchildren; Crystal May, Nia West, Keaton Bolick, Garrett Burnette, Sarah Adkins, and Daisy Whitener; and her great grandchildren; Seth May, Harper West, Malcom Rosso, and Demetri Burnette.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Faye Burnette will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with the Rev’s Matt Woody and Homer Murdock, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
