Jerry Allen Burleson, age 52, of Hardscrabble, passed away on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of Martha Magdalene Hudgins Burleson of Hardscrabble and the late William Clyde Burleson who passed away in 1980.
Jerry had a passion for playing and watching sports on television, especially basketball. He was known for his speed on his feet. Most important to him was the love he had for his family.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his three daughters: Taylor Hamilton (William “Will”) of Lake Lure, Nicole “Nick” Love (Larry Banner) of Marion, and Annabel Burleson of Linville; ten grandchildren: Gracie, Gannon, Kohen, Salem, Charles, Zachary, McKenna, Evelyn, Maverick and Beau; and a half-sister, Tammy Westall Gurley (Alex) of South Toe. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and additional family and friends.
