Lucas Brandon Snavely, age 28, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
Born in Mitchell County, Lucas was the son of Darrell & Elaine and brother to Becky.
Lucas, a Special Needs child had Down Syndrome and was Deaf. He received love and support from Mt Carmel church, his CAP workers, as well as many others in the community. Lucas’ family is grateful to each and every one of you that cared for our son. He is now in the hands of Jesus.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Lucas on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Mt Carmel Baptist Church where Pastor Toby Crowder will be officiating. Family and workers that helped care for Lucas will gather from 12:30 PM to 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 1-2PM. Followed by a brief funeral service.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated or memorial donations in Lucas Snavely’s honor may be made to “Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Spruce Pine NC”, “Friends Across NC”, or “Make a Wish Foundation”. Friends Across NC funds an annual camp “Camp Funshine” for Special Needs children and their families. Make these donations to Lucy Wilson, Camp Director, 264 Log Cabin Lane, Burnsville, NC 28714.
