Ruth Hamilton, age 95, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Mitchell House in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
Born on August 21, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late David G. and Elizabeth Kassin Nicol. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Norman, her brother, David R. Nicol and sister, Janette Fleming.
Surviving are sons; Daniel B. (Brenda) of Blountville TN, Dale (Christine) currently serving in DR Congo and daughter; D’Ann Ruth Pipp (James) of Little Switzerland, North Carolina.
Grandchildren; Daniel S. Hamilton (Patty) of Bainbridge GA, Emilee Hamilton of Knoxville TN, Heather Miller (Jon) of Kampala Uganda, Sarah Rondeau (Mark) of Nairobi Kenya, Joshua of Mwanza Tanzania, and Janis Dohring of Allen Park MI.
Great Grandchildren; Henry and Charlie Hamilton; Jebel, Jazira and Judah Miller; Caleb (Cheryl), Micah and Anna Rondeau; Josslyn and Rayne Dohring.
Also surviving are her beloved sisters-in-law; Lois Hamilton Black and Priscilla Flood Nicol as well as several dear nieces and nephews.
Last but not least are her many dear friends who have gone on before her or who still remain at Mitchell House Assisted Living, Spruce Pine NC and Pittsboro Christian Village, Pittsboro NC.
The family would like to express utmost appreciation to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge, especially Brittany Pitman, Mom’s nurse, and to the entire staff at Mitchell House for their wonderful and loving care of Ruth.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, MI. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Swartz Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, Ruth will be laid to rest by her husband, Norman.
Locally she is being cared for by Webb Funeral Home.
