Hallmark Biltmore Christmas Casting Call

If you’ve dreamed of being in a movie–here’s your chance. The Hallmark Channel is planning a Christmas movie to be set at the Biltmore House in Asheville. “A Biltmore Christmas” will star Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha and will air as part of the 2023 Hallmark “Countdown to Christmas” series. Filming at the Biltmore Estate will begin in January.

The movie’s storyline begins with screenwriter Lucy Collins (Lenz) landing a job to write the script for a remake of “His Merry Bride!,” a beloved Christmas classic first filmed at Biltmore House in 1947. Lucy travels to the estate and joins a guided tour of the historic home. She’s drawn to an entrancing hourglass that she accidentally knocks over, subsequently being transported back in time to 1946 ― the Golden Age of Hollywood ― and on set with the cast and crew of “His Merry Bride!” at Biltmore.

Hallmark Media is in search of extras for the film. The Casting Office, Inc. posted a casting call stating that filming will occur over two weeks in January. Extras must be prepared to be on set for 12-14 hour work days. No experience is needed. All ages, ethnicities and gender identities are needed. Instructions for applying include submitting two unedited photos of oneself,  an up-close smiling headshot and a full-length shot of one’s entire body. The full set of directions and the application form are available online at thecastingofficeinc.com.

Although other productions have been filmed at Biltmore, the Hallmark production will be the first time the National Historic Landmark will serve as the setting as Biltmore Estate.

Biltmore Estate and the Biltmore House will open during the filming period but visitors will need to be aware of possible changes and delays. Guests may also experience occasional temporary traffic delays or detours on estate roads. Film sets will be closed. No guests or employees will be able to access or view areas where filming is taking place. However, tours of the house are to continue as normal.
