Russell Talmage Banks, age 78, of Burnsville, passed away unexpectedly on December 28th, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Roy Thomas and Bertha Ann Austin Banks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Royce Banks, and sister, Juanita Shepherd.
Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Cheryl Banks, of the home; son, Todd Russell Banks; daughter, Wendy Banks; brothers: Calvin (Pat) Banks, Bobby Banks, and Randy (Laura) Banks; sister, Marie Melton; grandchildren: Coleton Banks, Carson Banks, Brayden Banks, Kellan Banks, Wesley (Jade) Randolph, Seth Randolph, and Sarah Banks; one great-grandchild, Ila Randolph.
Services will be held Friday, December 30th, 2022 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 1 o’clock. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in the Banks Family Cemetery in Burnsville.
