George Becker Biddix

George Becker Biddix age 68 of Biddix Farm Road in Spruce Pine went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mitchell County he was a son of the late Robert “June Bug” Biddix and Mattie Carpenter Biddix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Iva Lee Pratt.

George worked many years for Henredon, he was a member of Sullins Branch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved going to church, spending time with his family, coon hunting and taking care of his farm animals.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Wilma Loven Biddix of the home, daughters, Amanda Carroll of Morganton, Becky Phillips, and husband Rodney of Bakersville and Cynthia Lowery and husband Deron of Marion, a son, George Steven Biddix and wife Ashley of Spruce Pine, grandchildren, Savanah, Zach, Tyler, Paisley, Josh, Jess, Eli and Alan, and great grandchildren, Jaylen, Makayla, Nolan, Brysen and Claira. He is also survived by seven sisters, Ellen Dugger, Debbie Linville, Mattie Gurley, Evelyn Buchanan, Elaine Lowery, Diane Ledford and Elizabeth Buchanan and three brothers, Mark and Allen Biddix and Bobby McKinney.

A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Sullins Branch Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at the church with Pastors Bro. Ken Jenkins and Bro. Terry Bentley officiating. Interment will be in the Sullins Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to send out a special Thank You to Hospice of the Blue Ridge, Messino Cancer Center and Sullins Branch Baptist Church for all the care and support.
