Who is this “they” telling “us” about the economy in state of the union? I listened to it live on C-span and I mostly heard a bunch of old partisans arguing over the state of the union including, but not exclusively about the economy. I for one am much better off than I was four years ago economically speaking. Both members of our household are employed doing work we don’t have to be ashamed of or take advantage of anyone else to do, we have savings and even some investments. We are not rich by any means, but we live frugally and well in a beautiful place among some wonderful, caring people. If we didn’t have to listen to all these old partisans arguing about the state of the economy as they try to manipulate voters we’d be enjoying life a whole lot more, though, that’s for sure!
