Is that all you can come up with-Big Lots. I was not impressed with them because they don’t carry anymore than Walmart. The consumer wants a better variety of merchandise(mowers,tools,appliances,home goods etc) and at the local hardware there is limited place to park and so small you can’t get around. Is Big lots all they want to bring in? In my opinion ,I don’t believe that the elected don’t have anything to do with what is brought in in this county. The reason I know that the commissioners have a stake in bringing in new businesses is because I personally talked and wrote to Walmart and talked to the commissioners at the time and they saw a need for Walmart-some of them went against the establishment-Aren’t you glad they did-there were a lot of merchants that went against Walmart-It gave a lot men and women a place to work and good benefits. Economic Development is not doing their job either over the years but I’m sure they took home a good paycheck. What would Mitchell County be like without Walmart.? I’ve been told by people in all three counties that they do not know what they would do without Walmart..
