Re: We The People Of Mitchell County

The Village of Penland scheme occurred over 20 years ago and there are permits and logical rules that have been established since then with no further fraud of any other developments; so gaslighting “We the People”, that this is for our own good is straight from the Washington DC playbook. If the Commissioners truly cared about The People, they would charge a mineral tax on all minerals that leave the county instead of raising property taxes. They would no give tax benefits to tech moguls that buy land to turn in conservations, thus omitting property tax, and they would have put this Subdivision notice on the front of the newspaper, just like everything else that they boast about.

None of these commissioners have ever been involved in the process of building a subdivision or selling multiple lots, but yet they have the authority to create unrealistic rules as to how business can be conducted??
Let’s keep it simple, do the Commissioners even know the cost of to dig a well? or asphalt?
What is the accountability of the Commissioners and Review Board when a Realtor has a buyer that’s given a earnest money, but sees these rules and backs out?
Can “We the People” come after the Commissioners for lost business?
Has a Commissioner outlined the start to finish steps of a Buyer’s journey involving this?

One Commissioner spouts honesty and transparency but then hides comments on their social media page.
I hope these questions can be answered during the next commissioners meeting, especially a deep dive into a buyers journey and what the timeframe, cost, and entire purchasing process looks like.
