Charles “Doug” Slagle, age 67, of the Red Hill Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14th, 2022. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Jack and June Gouge Slagle. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Slagle and several aunts, uncles and a nephew. Doug and his wife, Brenda, owned and operated Buladean Shell for many years. He enjoyed fishing, watching North Carolina Basketball and Football. He especially loved his family and his dog, Jake.
Surviving is his loving wife, Brenda Rich Slagle and a daughter, Heather Slagle of Durham.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral services will follow with the Rev. Randy Wise officiating.
