Alma Marie Banks Hollifield, age 82, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 at Care Partners Solace Center.
A native of Transylvania County she was a daughter of the late Conley and Clara Holden Banks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ezell Hollifield; brother, Charles Banks and a sister, Josie Banks.
Alma Marie loved canning and cooking.
Surviving is her children: Darcus Marie Henson (David), Danny Lee Hollifield (Judy Ann), Rita Faye Moss, Sonny James Hollifield (Vivian) and Ernest Ray Hollifield (Rebecca) all of Burnsville; brother, William W. “Bud” Banks (Lois) of Weaverville; sisters: Martha Saylors of Greenville, TN, Christine Martin of Barnardsville and Molly; sisters-in-law: Caroline, Jean and Wilma; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February, 20th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Keith Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.
